(BEDFORD, IN) - With about 122 days left until April 1st, which is Census 2010 Day, Census workers have been busy canvassing the community updating addresses and maps from the previous census between April and July.
Lawrence County officials are reminding residents that between February and March 2010, every residence, and group facility in the City of Bedford, Mitchell, and all of Lawrence County will receive a questionnaire of 10 questions either by mail or in person from a census worker(Census workers can be identified by a census badge and bag).
Households should complete and return their forms after receiving them.
Addresses that don't respond will be visited in person by a census worker beginning in late April through July.
The Census data determines the number of seats each state will have in the U.S. House of Representatives and can also help determine the allocation of federal funds for community services, such as school lunch programs, senior citizen centers and new construction, such as highways, new housing developments, hospitals, and other community facilities.
