(EVANSVILLE, IN) - Evansville motorists who violate the city’s parking ordinances will pay more starting next month.
Parking ticket fees have increased by $5.
Most violations will be $15, if paid within 30 days.
The city upped the fee in order to compensate for higher costs like the paper for the tickets, the printing, and gasoline used by meter police.
The money will go into Evansville's general fund.
The city has collected more than $155,000 from parking meter violations this year.
