(BEDFORD, IN) - Hoosier Uplands was recently awarded a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
According to Debbie Beeler, Director of Children's Services for Hoosier Uplands, the agency has recieved the grant to expand their Early Head Start program which provides services to families in Lawrence, Orange, Martin and Washington Counties through a home-based model of service delivery with enrolled families receiving a 90 minute home visit each week.
The $277,324 grant will be used to provide services to an additional 22 infants, toddlers and pregnant women.
The program will also hire an additional six staff people.
