(BROWNSTOWN, IN) - Brownstown’s elusive clerk-treasurer has agreed to not fight a freeze of her assets as an investigation into her handling of town finances continues.
An order was signed Monday, stopping Brownstown Clerk-treasurer Rebecka Fee from taking any money from her bank accounts or selling her home, pending the completion of a lawsuit filed by the state against her.

The reportedly plans to also eventually file a civil lawsuit against Fee to collect the $365,524.74 in tax dollars she's been accused of overpaying herself.
Fee remains the elected Clerk-Treasurer for the town, the city has since appointed an interim clerk-treasurer to manage town funds.
