(JASPER, IN) - The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Jasper-based German American Bancorp says President Barack Obama was attentive to his calls to maintaining small business administration programs that assists community banks in helping borrowers weather the current economic climate.
Mark Schroeder says he and 11 other colleagues also asked the administration during a meeting Tuesday to be aware of the unintended consequences that increased regulations may have on community banking lenders.
He says the president acknowledged their concern but made it clear that reforms will be made.
