(BEDFORD, IN) - Two people and a dog escaped a burning Bedford home yesterday afternoon.
Bedford Fire Department officials arrived at 2444 H Street at around 2:45PM Monday afternoon after receiving reports of a house fire.
Officials say that Bridget Ryan and her roommate escaped the blaze without injury and managed to save one of their many pets; a 14-year-old dog.
Multiple cats, dogs and a frog are presumed to have been lost in the fire.
Fire crews managed to locate the house relatively quickly despite the 9-1-1 report being made without giving a specific address.
The home is being described as a total loss although the walls are still standing.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time; an investigation is expected to follow.
