(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University experts on the Bloomington campus held an educational meeting Thursday night on the earthquake in Haiti.
Faculty members from the university's Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies provided an overview of Haitian history, culture, politics and economic realities, both before and after the quake.
Some of the university's Haitian-American students spoke at the event to give their perspective on the situation.
Local officials, including Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan spoke of the latest information on campus and community events to help the people of Haiti.

Money Donations:

Material Donations:
CLACS has designated itself as a Bloomington-based collection site for material contributions.
The following is a speech from Beth Gazley on what material items people should not donate.
Helpful items include: Wound dressings and bandages; rehydration packets; Chloroquine (antimalarial); nonperishable foods (Peanut butter, crackers, etc.)
Donations can be dropped off during normal business hours between 8:00AM and 5:00PM, at 1125 E. Atwater Ave.
