(UNDATED) - The Indiana State Teachers Association is proposing a five-point plan for cutting school budgets, including the curtailment of any student testing that is not mandated by the federal no child left behind legislation.
That would include Indiana's ISTEP test.
The plan being presented to the general assembly would avoid teacher layoffs.
ISTA President Nate Schnellenberger says the cuts would save the state about $577 million dollars.
