(COLUMBUS, IN) - A Columbus man upset with a drug deal decided to burn a pickup owned by a person involved in the deal Saturday morning in Seymour.
Authorities say 22-year-old Alexander Scot Conrad started the fire because the owner of the vehicle owed him money.
Conrad is accused of starting a fire that destroyed a maroon Ford F150 early Saturday morning in the 600 block of Peak Avenue on Seymour's south side.
Police found the truck engulfed in flames after he was called to a report of a man trying to kick in a front door of a residence on East Peak Avenue at 6:08AM and spotted Conrad nearby carrying what appeared to be a gasoline can.
During a police interview, Conrad said he was upset after he purchased what he thought was cocaine from a subject, and that substance turned out not to be cocaine.
The man was booked into the Jackson County Jail on a charge of arson.
