Mother Struck By Car While Taking Care Of Child

(COLUMBUS, IN) - The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department says a mother tending to her child was hit Thursday by a driver who then fled the scene.

23-year-old Nakkita Saylor-Wicker had stopped her vehicle on a rural county road to assist her daughter when the girl began to choke.

Saylor-Wicker suffered injuries to her left arm and leg. Her daughter was not injured.
