(UNDATED) - A winter weather advisory is in effect for the listening area through 7am on Friday morning.
Accumulations of 4 to 5 inches are expected, and snow will continue through Friday morning.
The heaviest snow will fall from early this morning through the mid afternoon hours.
The combination of the anticipated snow pack and another surge of arctic air in the wake of the system will drive temperatures into the single digits to near zero Friday night and Saturday night.
Lingering northwest winds may push wind chill readings ranging from zero to ten below later this week.
Road conditions will be hazardous with the amount of snow falling, drivers are reminded to reduce their speed and increase distance between their car and others, also clear all windows and use headlights, even during daylight hours.
Watch for black ice and never use cruise control when roads have the potential to be slick.
