(UNDATED, IN) - A bill that would end the public access to Indiana’s Database of Information of people who have gun permits has won final approval in the Indiana General Assembly.
The State Senate approved the bill 48-0 on Thursday.
It will now move to Governor Mitch Daniels for consideration.
Legislators were urged to close the records by gun owners after the Herald Times of Bloomington and the Indianapolis Star chose to publish the information.
The House approved the bill in January by a vote of 85-11.
