(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Every Indiana county now has a health ranking, released by the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
The rankings measure how healthy people are and how long they live.
Hamilton, Hendricks, Dubois, Warrick and Boone are the top five counties in the state.
However Pike, Martin, Switzerland, Starke and Scott counties round out the bottom five.
Here locally, Lawrence county ranked 66th out of Indiana's 92 counties.
Monroe County ranked 17, followed by Washington at 60, Orange at 65, Jackson at 67, Greene at 78 and Martin at 92.
Indiana State Health Commissioner Judy Monroe participated in the national rollout of the rankings in Washington, D.C. Wednesday.
