(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A North Dakota man is being treated for hypothermia in Monroe County after falling through ice, attempting to rescue a dog.
Indiana Conservation officers say 64-year-old Timothy Hill was walking his sisters' dogs Thursday morning at Monroe Reservoir when he noticed one of them fell through the ice.
Hill fell in the ice trying to get the dog and was rescued by four men working construction on a nearby house.
Police say the three men crawled out in a single file line holding onto a piece of electrical wire they were using for construction and looped it, allowing hill and the dog to be pulled to safety.
