(SPARKSVILLE, IN) - Fire crews worked for nearly four hours Saturday extinguishing a 100 acre fire in far western Jackson County.
Reports indicate that four different fire departments responded to the scene in the small town of Sparksville.
Carr Township Chief Steve Ingle says that the fire may have been sparked by a campfire that was left unattended.
The Sparksville fire began at around 2:00PM and was extinguished at around 6:00PM on Saturday.
Despite the severity of the incident, only one person was injured when he flipped his 4-wheeler in the area while firefighters were fighting the blaze; he declined medical treatment.
