(MITCHELL, IN) - Many residents in Mitchell agree that the water rates are high but city officials say that they could possibly be lowered by as much as 25%.
Mitchell Mayor Dan Terrell says he is hoping to drop water rates in the city before the year is over.
Until then, residents in Mitchell will have to settle for a 6 percent decrease, which was approved during a Mitchell Council meeting.
Citizens using 5,000 gallons of water a month can now expect a $5 decrease in their water bill.
