(SEYMOUR, IN) - Police have wrapped their investigation into an incident on March 9 that left a 40-year-old Jackson County man with a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to police, Michael Blake was shot by a .22-caliber long rifle at a residence near Freetown.
The man arrived at his home and began drinking with his friends and shooting guns, when the man was accidentally shot in the chest.
He was then taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being flown to Louisville.
The shooting victim does not plan to file any charges.
