(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - It’s taken over 20 years, but a construction project to upgrade and rebuild a portion of a Bloomington roadway is about to begin.
Starting this year, the Indiana Department of Transportation will rebuild and upgrade the State Road 45 and 46 bypass to improve safety and mobility for both motorized and non-motorized traffic.
The project is part of the "Major Moves" initiative passed by the Indiana legislature in 2006.
INDOT is holding an open house for the bypass project on May 6th at the Bloomington City Council Chambers.
Updated traffic and highway congestion information will be provided, along with the anticipated construction schedule.
