Car Wreck Blocks Highway Traffic

(BEDFORD, IN) - Three people were injured Thursday evening in a two vehicle car wreck.

According to police reports, 55-year-old Susan Bower, who was traveling along Highway 37 near Bender Lumber, was preparing to turn left onto 35th street as 35-year-old Julia Nikkila approached her.

Despite the oncoming traffic, Bower proceeded across the highway, ultimately striking Nikkila in the side.

Nikkila then ran off the road and hit a street sign.

Bower informed police that she did not see the vehicle approaching.

Both woman and one passenger were transported to an area hospital to be treated for their injuries.
