(BROWNSTOWN, IN) - A Jackson County man has been accused of utility fraud and criminal mischief.
According to police, 49-year-old Orville Shelton was arrested following an investigation into incidents in March and April where employees of Jackson County Water Utility found that locks had been cut and water service had been turned back on at a residence on County Road 1125 North.
Employees with the utility say that when Shelton turned the water back on, equipment was damaged and created the need for repairs.
Shelton is now facing charge of criminal mischief and a utility fraud charge.
