(TERRE HAUTE, IN) - Four Terre Haute pharmacies will now require prescriptions for the purchase of certain cold medicines.
Kmart, Wal-Mart, JR Pharmacy and Terre Haute Prescription Shop agreed with the request of area police to require a doctor's prescription before selling products containing pseudoephedrine or ephedrine which can be used as ingredients in methamphetamine.
Three other pharmacies within the town, Kroger, CVS and Walgreens are seeking corporate approval before applying the measure.
Buying most of these medicines are already limited and tracked under state law.
