(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) - A special tribute to our military and to fallen Hoosier soldiers takes place today on Monument Circle.
The 500 Festival Memorial Service begins at noon.
The 500 Festival's Brandi Davis-Handy says Indianapolis and the rest of the state gets caught up in the Indy 500 activity, but we need to remember what Memorial Day is all about.
Families of Hoosiers killed in action will be attending the service, which will include a flyover from the 122nd fighter wing of the Indiana Air National Guard and a color guard presentation.
It is free and open to everyone.
