(BEDFORD, IN) - Bedford Regional Medical Center is planning to build a 93,000 square foot two-story building designed to increase the number of available beds in the future.
Chief Executive Officer Brad Dykes, hospital board members and architects informed the Bedford Plan Commission that the total budget for the project will be in the neighborhood of $60 million.
Rebuilding the hospital will utilize nearly six acres to the south of the building which Dykes says is currently in the process of being purchased.
The announcement comes in the wake of Dunn Memorial Hospital and county officials announcing that Dunn will be sold to Indianapolis-based St. Vincent for $7.02 million.
