(UNDATED) - The annual war on controlling the local mosquito population just became more difficult.
The recent heavy rains and steaming hot temperatures in Indiana have created ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
John Althardt with the Marion County Health Department says the conditions will speed up mosquito development from larva to adult stage.
He predicts a major hatch-out of mosquitoes in the next couple weeks.
The best defense in eradicating mosquitoes in your neighborhood is to get rid of standing water.
