(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A couple was hospitalized Wednesday following a violent fight caused by jealousy.
Police say that 32-year-old Joshua Huffman battered his 40-year-old girlfriend so badly Wednesday morning that he fractured bones around her right eye.
Huffman says that the woman smiled at another man which caused the rage.
Police discovered the woman near a video store seeking help suffering several additional injuries.
Witnesses at the couple's apartment complex say that the two began arguing around 11:30AM Wednesday morning.
Huffman claims that he was injured around 2:00AM that morning, when someone broke into the apartment and he chased them away.
He was taken to the hospital and then taken into police custody on preliminary charges of aggravated battery, confinement, strangulation and intimidation.
