(SEYMOUR, IN) - A group of southern Indiana residents is working to get a former state police post recognized as a historic site.
Rosemary Stanley says the Seymour post that closed February 28th, was built in 1937 as part of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's Works Progress Administration.
It was the first state police post in Indiana.
Stanley says she plans to start a petition in Seymour to get residents interested in the registry effort.
The post is already on the Indiana Landmarks Notable List.
