Man Injured After 'Surfing' On Car's Roof

(JASPER, IN) - A 23-year-old Jasper man was injured after falling from a moving car near Patoka Lake.

Jordan Colombel was reportedly riding on top of a car driven by 20-year-old Blake Schmitt.

Authorities believe the car was traveling around 50 miles per hour when Colombel slipped off the roof and hit the roadway.

He suffered severe head injuries and was flown by helicopter to a Louisville hospital.

Schmitt is facing charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and minor consumption of alcohol.

A passenger in the car, 20-year-old Stephanie McKee is also facing a preliminary charge of minor consumption of alcohol.

Other charges are pending.
