(AVOCA, IN) - Two Indiana State troopers, along with a Lawrence County deputy sheriff and an Oolitic police officer are credited to saving a motorist’s life.
Police officials say that a passenger in a car parked on the side of Highway 37 was suffering from respiratory arrest.
Deciding that the woman was too weak to wait for medical crews to arrive, the troopers placed the woman in a police cruiser and rushed her to a hospital.
A doctor at the hospital stated that the victim probably would have not survived had it not been for the officer's immediate actions.
