(INDIANA STATEHOUSE) - The statehouse fight against synthetic marijuana is picking up steam.
State Senator Ron Alting (R-Lafayette) is leading the state's fight by working to ban marijuana-like substances in Indiana and creating stiff penalties for using and selling the products.
Democratic Rep. John Barnes of Indianapolis also hopes to sponsor a bill banning spice.
Because of potential health concerns, several states have banned the use of cannabinoid products.
