(BEDFORD, IN) - A portion of GM Powertrain exploded Wednesday afternoon, destroying a portion of the roof and knocking down two employees.
Fire officials say that the employees were treated at the scene by GM personnel and weren't taken to the hospital.
The explosion happened in a ventilation system on the roof of a building on the south side of the complex.
What caused the ventilation system to ignite is not known at this time.
The explosion sent a 15 by 15 foot piece of roof hurling 35 to 40 yards away.
