(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - In his annual State of the University Address, I.U. President Michael McRobbie says the school should rededicate itself to its principles of excellence.
McRobbie says next year's budget session with the legislature will be difficult as states "continue to face financial stress on a scale not seen since the 1930s".
Despite financial challenges, which included a $29.3 million state budget cut, he says Indiana University remains "one of the state's most successful enterprises."
McRobbie says the university remains dedicated to being one of the great research universities of the 21st century.
He delivered his address from the IUPUI campus.
