(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Just in time for the Labor Day Holiday, the Indiana Business Research Center in Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business is releasing some data about Hoosier workers.
There are 3.1 million employed residents in Indiana.
The unemployment rate is about 10.2%.
I.U. Demographer Matt Kinghorn says Indiana has the 11th highest number of jobless people in the nation, but is still in better shape than some of our neighboring states.
He says the average Hoosier works 34.6 hours a week, down from 35.5 hours in 2007.
