(BEDFORD, IN) - WBIW Sportscaster Myron Rainey has been awarded the Marvin Bates Award from the Indiana Sportswriter and Sportscasters Association.
Rainey began his radio career at WBIW in the 1970's following high school graduation. Rainey, who currently serves as Clerk of Lawrence County, says he is honored to receive the award.
Previous recipients of the Marvin Bates Award include Don Fischer and Jerry Baker.
The awards ceremony will be held on April 16th of 2011.
Myron Rainey still broadcasts sports for WBIW and new this year on Super Oldies.
