(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A Bloomington Pain Management Doctor has agreed to surrender his license to practice medicine while facing charges of illegally prescribing drugs and health care fraud.
Dr. Kamal Tiwari's three-day hearing before the state medical licensing board later this month has been put off indefinitely.
Tiwari and his lawyer, Arend Abel, submitted a proposal to the board stating Tiwari would agree to the license suspension pending the outcome of his trial.
Tiwari lost his license to prescribe narcotics when the federal charges were filed but recruited another doctor to write the prescriptions for his practice.
That doctor's license was also suspended after he admitted to signing blank prescriptions at Tiwari's pain clinics.
