(BEDFORD, IN) - Bedford Police are warning area residents of a new scam currently going around the area.
Police Chief Dennis Parsley says their department has received several calls concerning a young female, knocking on doors claiming that her car has over-heated.
While the victims get water for the female, she steals whatever valuables lying around that she can find.
Parsley says that items such as wallets and pills have been taken from the homes.
Police warn citizens to never let someone into your house that you are unfamiliar with.
They ask that anyone who witnesses this female to be sure to write down a description of the vehicle and if possible, a license plate.
Anyone with information on this story is asked to call police at 275-3311.
