(BEDFORD, IN) - The Lawrence County burn ban has been lifted.
According to Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig, recent rain showers were able to soak the ground enough for the danger of possible fire to disappear.
After talking with Steve Nolan, president of the Lawrence County Volunteer Firefighters' Association, Craig said it was deemed enough rain has fallen to lift the ban.
Craig states "even though we have had some rain, firefighters are still urging people to use caution if they are burning."
