(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - An I.U. transplant surgeon was killed in a Michigan car crash during a snowstorm. 55-year-old Mark Pescovitz died Sunday.
Authorities say Pescovitz lost control of his vehicle, and a semitrailer hit his sliding car.
Pescovitz performed Indiana's first successful kidney/pancreas transplant at the I.U.
Medical Center in Indianapolis in December 1988.
