(MEDORA, IN) - The small town of Medora has received a $725,000 federal grant to help the town better cope with earlier flooding problems.
Lt. Governor Becky Skillman recently announced Medora is one of 13 communities that will share $10 million in federal Community Development Block grants.
The grants were set aside for disaster recovery efforts, and Medora qualifies for the grant because of the June 8, 2008, flood.
Many homes in Medora, which has a population of 540, were destroyed or damaged by that flood.
The town lies in the flood plain near the East Fork of the White River.
