(UNDATED) - Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman says she didn’t mean to touch off what she calls a “firestorm” of concerned phone calls with her announcement that “minor health issues” uncovered in an annual physical had pushed her out of the race.
Skillman says she had surgery last week and was back at work three days later.
But she says it helped make up her mind not to subject herself to the stress of a campaign.
