(BEDFORD, IN) - 41-year-old Susan May has been found guilty of murder in the shooting death of her boyfriend.
May shot her boyfriend, 35-year-old Jason Joy nine times in a Bedford street on September 2nd of 2009.
Earlier in the trial, family members had been warned not to let their emotions show in the presence of the jury.
Defense attorneys had filed for a defense of insanity, arguing that a long history of medical treatment for mental illness showed the defendant suffered from insanity when she shot Joy.
May will be sentenced by Judge Michael Robbins at 9:00AM on April 1st.
The charge carries from 45 to 65 years in prison.
