(SOLSBERRY, IN) - A Greene County mother informed police last week that her 13-year-old son was attacked by her neighbor’s two dogs as he walked home from the school bus stop at Lawrence Hollow.
Police say that the dogs had retreated by the time officers arrived at the owner's home.
Hoover took her son to Bloomington Hospital for stitches and managed to track-down the dogs' owner, who said they had been vaccinated but did not provide proof.
When the dogs came around the Hoovers home again, her husband shot them both, loaded the bodies into the back of his pickup truck and drove them to the veterinary clinic who had the dogs' heads sent them off for rabies testing.
Police say the shooting was legal due to the fact of the dogs coming onto the Hoovers' property.
