(BEDFORD, IN) - And the winner is…
5th grader from Shawswick Elementary School, Jathan Howe was crowned champion of the 37th Annual WBIW Lawrence County Spelling Bee.
Howe will receive a participation certificate, WBIW spelling bee tee shirt, $35 coin collection and a $100 savings bond donated by Bedford Federal.
In addition to the prizes, Jathan's homeroom class at Shawswick Elementary will receive a pizza party donated by Papa John's.
He will also compete in the Kentucky Derby Festival Spelling Bee at the Papa John's Cardinal Stadium on Saturday, March 19th.

Overall Grand Champion......... Jathan Howe - Grade 5, Shawswick Elementary.
1st Place......... Anna Cummings - Grade 8, Bedford Middle School
2nd Place......... Anna Hawkins - Grade 8, St. Vincent de Paul
3rd Place......... Blake Conner - Grade 8, Shawswick Middle School
4th Place......... Camden Hill - Grade 8, Oolitic Middle School
5th Place......... Ben Barker - Grade 6, Mitchell Jr. High
