(BEDFORD, IN) - Crews are passing some major milestone this year in General Motors’ years-long PCB cleanup work in Bedford.
Ed Peterson and Cheryl Hiatt, GM managers who have been working on the project and reporting to the public, spoke of some of those upcoming milestones during a quarterly update meeting Thursday, stating that "at the end of the year we could have completed some very, very critical milestones for us."
One of those milestones is removing the last 6,000 tons of PCB-contaminated soil from the creek beds downstream from the GM Powertrain plant.
