(MARTINSVILLE, IN)- The teen shot twice in the stomach while attending Martinsville West Middle School Friday is in critical condition.
Doctors stabilized him twice; once after the shooting, then again after life-saving surgery.
Trauma Surgeon Thomas Hayward says chances of recovery are better for someone Chance's age.
The Jackson family remains by Chance's side.
The suspect, a student who had been expelled a week before the shooting, is now in police custody.
