(UNDATED) - The National Weather Service has declared this week as severe weather preparedness week.
Chief Meteorologist Dave Tucek says the week is an opportunity for everyone to review emergency procedures in the event of a tornado or other severe weather.
Although tornadoes can occur at any time during the year, Tucek says the spring and fall are the most volatile periods that can produce the strongest storms.
Tucek says residents should take the time to review their response plan both at home and in the workplace.
If you don't have a plan.
Tucek says it's essential to create one.
Emergency responders will conduct a statewide fire drill Wednesday.
The drill will take place twice; once in the morning between 10:00AM and 10:30AM then again in the evening between 7:30PM and 8PM.
