(UNDATED) - Around 12,000 Duke Energy customers remain without power this afternoon following a line of strong storms, producing 14 tornadoes and strong winds.
Angeline Protegere with Duke Energy says that at least 1,500 residents remain without power in Lawrence County.
Power was restored to the Mitchell area just in time before the city of Mitchell ran out of water. Mitchell City Officials say that water storage was below 20% and would have been empty by 2:00PM today if power wasn't restored.
Protegere says that power should be restored to most Lawrence County by Friday if not sooner.
