Hoosiers Paid More For Groceries During Beginning Of 2011

(UNDATED) - Hoosiers paid about 4% more for their groceries during the first quarter of 2011, when compared to the fourth quarter of 2010.

The Indiana Farm Bureau says grain shortages, Middle East turmoil and extreme weather in crop-producing states combined to push prices up.

The price of the 16 items included in the market basket survey was $47.20, still below the record high of $50.70 reached in 2008.
