(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - Indiana University wants to host one of the 2012 presidential debates.
The Bloomington university is one of 12 schools to apply.
The Commission on Presidential Debates will pick the locations for three presidential debates and one debate for the V.P. candidates.
The debate itself would take place at the 3,200-seat I.U. Auditorium.
Leading the I.U. effort is the Presidential Debate Student Coalition, organized by officials with the I.U. Student Association and including the Indiana Memorial Union Board, the Political and Civic Engagement Program and the Residence Halls Association.
