(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A Bloomington jury has convicted Michael Griffin in the murder of an IU professor.
The verdict came following more than eleven hours of deliberations and was announced at around 11:30PM last night.
During closing arguments, prosecutors claimed Griffin killed Belton over his humiliation after a drunken sexual encounter on Christmas in 2009.
Griffin faces a maximum sentence of 65 years in prison.
