(BLOOMINGTON, IN) - A Monroe County group and the state could be nearing a showdown concerning the Interstate 69 extension to Evansville.
The Policy Committee of the Bloomington/Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization has approved a new highway plan that does not include a section of the extension in Monroe County.
Officials say county residents have too many unresolved questions about the highway.
INDOT Deputy Commissioner Sam Sarvis says the agency will reconsider discretionary funding within Monroe County.
